Monterey Bay Aquarium

This layout comes in 2 parts.

Part 1 (a double page layout with pictures of people, the cannery, and the aquarium map):

Part 2 (all the fun pictures we took of the wildlife at the aquarium):

I looooooove aquariums. So I have lots of pictures. I decided to use a technique I saw on Ali Edwards' blog where she used a Crop In Style sticker organizing sheet for a layout. I figured this was perfect for the bazillion photos I had. But I also wanted a traditional layout for the people pictures and map. I'm not sure how I will put this in my album yet. Maybe with the animals in between the other 2 pages...

Details: The double page layout has papers by Doodlebug Designs. "Monterey Bay" was written with Making Memories glitter alpha stickers. "Aquarium" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature). The animal pages have a patterned paper by Heidi Grace. Both layouts have stickers by Jolee's Boutique.

Get Well Card

I decided to use my cousin Nikki's awesome idea of adding some of the botanical photos I've taken to my cards. The Get Sketchy challenge for this week proved to be the perfect opportunity! And I used some patterned papers from the SEI Bridgeport stack my mom bought me recently. I just love the colors in this collection. "Get Well" seemed to be a fitting sentiment on this card because it's almost like sending flowers. =)

Typical Cat

Warren and I love reading the comics every Sunday morning (ok, fine.... afternoon). Get Fuzzy is usually amusing to us, but this one really hit home. So I decided to scrapbook it, of course! I added a picture of my cat's empty bowls - it fits with the comic and I just love their bowls. ;)

Details: Orange cat paper and brown paw print paper are by Bo Bunny. Striped paper (die cut) is by My Mind's Eye. Teal ribbon is by Martha Stewart. I made the white strip with red cats by stamping and embossing. "Typical Cat" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

This layout was made based on a Sketchy Thursday sketch over on Design by Diana's blog.

Card Update

I like to take a picture of all the cards I make but I keep forgetting to post them after the card has been received. So here is a big update!

I made this birthday card for my mom back in June. The presents are cut out of patterned paper and epoxied with Glossy Accents. Letter stickers are by Making Memories

This card was for my step-sister-in-law who graduated high school this past spring. The girl was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

I looooove acrylic cards. =) This card was for a sorority sister's wedding back in June. I stamped the white flowers onto the acrylic with Stazon. Green flower sticker is by Stampin Up. Amore embellishment was from Joann.

Another wedding card, this time for friends of ours in Texas. I cut the black frame with the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Ribbon came folded and is from the Michael's $1 bin.

My cousin's daughter turned one this August. =) In fact, my cousin celebrated her birthday on the same day! Her card is below. "One" was cut using Graphically Speaking. Cupcake is by Jolee's boutique.

Here is the card for my cousin Shannon! The "Happy day" button is by Making Memories.

Adventures in Friendship

This layout was inspired by Jennifer! She did a collage layout with a ton of photos she took while visiting me in April and titled it "Adventures in Friendship." She had the perfect idea for scrapbooking the trip, so I copied her! ;) I did full layouts for our stops at the Botanical Gardens and the Jelly Belly Factory, but the photos and journaling here cover the rest of our activities.

Details: Green grid paper is from the SEI Bridgeport stack. All other patterned papers are from the DCWV Green Stack. Flower was cut using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge (I added part of a Heidi Swapp flower behind it). Scalloped circle and circle ring were cut using Mini Monograms. "Adventures" and "Friendship" were cut using Lyrical Letters (Loop de Loo feature).

Mini Zeta Reunion

The final page from my friend Ali's visit! We met up with another sorority sister, Eileen, for dinner at Sam Wo's. If you haven't been to this restaurant in the city yet, you should. It's an "experience."

Details: Main patterned paper is KaiserCraft Bird Song. I cut out part of the swirl to overlap the cream paper. Brads are by Bo Bunny (given to me by Jennifer!). "mini" and "Reunion" was written with Prima flocked alpha stickers. "ZETA" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature). The central square accent was also cut from Lyrical Letters.

You Make Me Happy Card

This card is for the challenge over at Marks Paper Company.

Details: Patterned papers on card are printable by Marks Paper Company. Rubons are by Stampin Up. I made the patterned paper that I line the envelope with. I started with a solid green paper, used a background stamp and brown ink to add the pattern and then I heat embossed it. In person it looks very luxurious!

Happy Trails

These are pictures from a short hike Warren and I did on the eastern ridge. We went to Ed Levin Park and just walked along the ridge for a while. Apparently the trail continues for many more miles! Maybe next time we'll have to prepare for a longer trek.

Details: Circle was cut from the map of the park. "Happy Trails" was cut using the Going Places Cricut cartridge. Snail was cut using Walk in My Garden. Butterfly was cut using Lyrical Letters.

We have a winner!

Thanks to everyone for participating and for all the great ideas! I have my work cut out for me now. =) And please keep sharing my Etsy shop with your friends!

I chose a random winner using random.org... 9!

Hi Noey! I love the cherry good wishes card, but then I love cherries! The car chipboard album is super cute but I would personally never use it because I'd be too afraid to ruin it.

All the suggestions are great so far! I like the idea of invites doing a pack of 10-15 would be great! What about wedding related stuff? Maybe escort cards or table numbers. Baby or wedding shower cards. I like to buy things in packs, so maybe a set of 3 or 5 cards like thank yous or birthday cards.

Thank you Misha! Send me your address and I'll mail you the card you won.

Maker Faire

The 4th Annual Maker Faire! We got a group of 10 together and headed to the Maker Faire in San Mateo on May 31. It was fun seeing all the handmade items from cars to papercrafts. We entered a bunch of raffles and my friend Sara won a Cuttlebug! =)

Details: Grid patterned paper is by Crate Paper. Green mesh paper is from the SEI Bridgeport paper stack. Orange scalloped mat is by Colorbok Friendly Forest. "Maker" was written with Making Memories glitter alpha stickers. "Faire" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

27th Birthday Celebrations

I got to celebrate my birthday twice this year. First I went out to dinner with my parents and brother in NH. Then on my actual birthday, I had a wonderful evening with my hubby! He took some photos of me (it's fun to have spontaneous photo shoots on occasion!) and then we went to pick out diamond earrings. Once I was extra sparkly, we enjoyed dinner at a wonderful mediterranean restaurant and finished at Red Mango for dessert with friends.

Details: Patterned papers and orange wavy border are by Crate Paper. Flowers are by Making Memories. "27th" and "celebrations" were written with Making Memories glitter alpha stickers. "Birthday" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

My New Paper Rack

One of the scrapbooking stores by me went out of business recently (for a good reason, though - the owner is the lead designer for the scrapbooking brand My Little Shoebox and needs more personal time). Anyway.... I got super lucky when she had one last paper rack for sale. I've been wanting one of these for quite a while now. There are 30 shelves so I can organize my paper really well.

And don't forget to enter my giveaway in the previous post! =)

Berkeley Botanical Gardens

I LOVE going to gardens and taking pictures of flowers. This is by far the biggest reason hubby and I bought a DSLR camera. Anyway, these pictures are from the Berkeley Botanical Gardens.

Details: Patterned papers are from the SEI Oasis stack. Orange floral rubon is by Colorbok. Brown glittery branch rubon is by Colorbok My Wild Life. Blue/white grid journaling block is by K&Company. Title is heat embossed.

Georgetown Silver Mines

This is a "3" page layout of our ride on the Georgetown Historic Loop Railroad and tour into the Silver Mines in Colorado. I used a 6x12 page protector to create the "third" page - with extra photos/momentos from the trip. I've added pictures of the layout in the album so you can see how the 6x12 page lays.

Details: Papers, journaling blocks, and film strip overlays are all by Little Yellow Bicycle. "Georgetown" and "Silver Mines" were cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).
