Mother's Day Love

I got these great cards in the mail from friends and family for my first Mother's Day.

These are always the hard layouts for me... when I have cards that I want to keep from an event. So I keep them simple. I just use one or two patterned papers that coordinate and them put together a title/journaling block.

Floral paper is by SEI. White letter stickers are by Creative Memories. "Love" sticker is by Making Memories.

Tobin's Birth Announcement

I know, I know. I've been MIA. No posts for March and now it's most of the way through April. Ugh. Our family had a R.O.U.G.H. flu season. We are so very thankful for spring. I will now try to get caught up on posts!

Welcoming Julia

One of my sorority sisters, Anna, was pregnant at the same time as me. The girls gathered in VA back in March to celebrate with her. Here is her baby shower, and her adorable Julia's birth announcement. This photo doesn't show it, but she has super cute spiky baby hair!!

The Benefits of Apartment Living

This was a simple, and silly layout. And it was amusing finally getting around to this layout now that we're living in our townhome that we own.

Lesson learned: do not dump an entire pot of (overcooked) pasta down the garbage disposal. I backed up the pipes. But thankfully, I could just call maintenance and have them fix it.

The reason I chose to document this occasion was because of the comments the maintenance worker left on the order slip: "Pipes were clogged with noodles." Hubby and I cracked up at how ridiculous that sounds and I joked about getting an extra copy of the yearly garbage disposal dos and don'ts newsletter. Alas, they spared me. =P

Details: Background patterned paper is Blue Fun Circles by K&Company. Blue/green grid paper is from the DCWV Latte stack. July scalloped embellishment is by jillibean soup. "Benefits" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (welded with my Gypsy). The rest of the title was written with EK Success Sticko alpha stickers.

Leah's New Addition

Here is a quick layout to highlight Leah's baby shower back in May. She had the fabulous Donna design her stationery.

Details: Plaid paper is from the SEI Moravia stack. Raindrops paper is by American Crafts. "Leah's" was written with Making Memories glitter alpha stickers. "New Addition" was cut using the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge.

Happy Halloween!

I've been using the words "quick" and "simple" a lot recently to describe my layouts. I've found this is necessary if I stand a chance getting caught up!

So here is a quick and simple layout of the cute cards I received from my friends Jennifer and Courtney for Halloween. And Jennifer gave me the cute paper, too!

Happy Birthday Kitties!

Our vet sent these cute cards for our cats to wish them a happy 5th birthday. I just had to keep them. =)

Holiday Cheer

Well, not Christmas, but Valentine's Day and St. Patty's Day! These are the cute cards my scrappin buddy Jennifer sent me. =)

Details: Flowered paper is by Chatterbox. Dotted paper is by Sandylion. "Holiday" was written with Prima flocked alphas. "Cheer" was written with Making Memories glitter alphas.

Our New Address

I kept a copy of the change of address cards we sent out to our friends and family. I have really fallen behind in my scrapbooking, so I'm keeping some layouts simple to catch up!

Details: Diagonal plaid patterned paper is by American Crafts - Cat's Cradle. Scalloped edge was made with the Fiskars Threading Water punch. Leaf was cut using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge. "Our new address" was cut with Alphalicious.

Our Big Move

I found this awesome Texas paper at the scrapbook store in Fredericksburg and then a few months later my friend Jennifer gave me the matching California sheet. So I figured I would make a layout to represent Warren and I's big move. I add journaling blocks to write details I like about each state.

Details: Paper is by Stamping Station. Journaling blocks are by K&Company Blue Awning line. "Our Big" was using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge ( Italic Monoline feature). "Move" was also cut using Lyrical Letters (Jumbo feature). "Nov 2008" was written using Making Memories glitter alpha stickers.

Happy Birthday

This is a birthday card that I thought was really cute from last year. The layout is better in person because the red paper doesn't photograph well.

Details: Shiny red paper (says Birthday over and over) is by Me & My Big Ideas. Swirly paper is by gcd. "Happy" was cut using the Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge.

You Rock!

This is actually from Valentine's Day 2007. Warren and I had recently bought Guitar Hero and we really enjoyed rocking out. My parents saw this card and knew they had to get it for us.

Details: Black starry paper is by DCWV Rockstar stack. Other patterned papers are by Moxxie. Journaling blocks are by Colorbok from the $1 section at Michael's. Red scallops were made with the Fiskars Threading Water punch. "You Rock!" was cut using the Stamped Cricut cartridge.

Another forgetful evening without photos. Oh well. For Halloween, Warren and I joined some friends for tasty food and hilarious conversation. Here, I scrapbooked the party invitation. I made one slight alteration, though. The invitation orignally came with a cute Halloween button on it. But I replaced it with a sticker to kept the layout thinner.

Details: Patterned paper is by Heidi Grace. The row of pumpkins was cut using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge.

Tasty Tex-Mex

Mmmmmmmm, I'm missing my favorite Texas restaurant: Chuy's. Good, tasty, Tex-Mex. No photos, but I kept their postcard.

Details: Plaid paper is from the DCWV Pet's Stack. Flower paper (border) is from the SEI Winnie's Walls line. Yellow fuzzy ric-rac is by American Crafts. "favorites" was done with Autumn Leaves letter rubons. "Tasty TEX-MEX" was cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge.

6 Months

Warren and I went to The Melting Pot on our 6 month "anniversary." Again, we forgot to take any pictures, but I saved the card the restaurant gave us and their souvenir menu.

Merry Christmas

The beautiful card Warren gave me on our first married Christmas. I wanted to see both the inside and outside at the same time so I scanned the inside and reprinted it.

Details: Brown background paper is from SEI Alpine Frost collection. Red paper with sparkly snowflakes is from the Target $1 spot paper pack. This paper pack is awesome, btw. Love embroidered sticker is from a Me and Me Big Ideas Soft Spoken set - Husband. "merry" is cut from Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge. "Christmas" was cut from Stamped using the Smooth feature.
