Happy Halloween!

Oops, this post got deleted by accident. Just putting it back. =)

Another forgetful evening without photos. Oh well. For Halloween, Warren and I joined some friends for tasty food and hilarious conversation. Here, I scrapbooked the party invitation. I made one slight alteration, though. The invitation orignally came with a cute Halloween button on it. But I replaced it with a sticker to kept the layout thinner.

Details: Patterned paper is by Heidi Grace. The row of pumpkins was cut using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge.

West Texas Trip

Here are all the layouts from Warren and I's trip to West Texas back in July. One is a re-post. Details below each photo.

A Piece of History

Over the summer, when Warren and I visited his grandparents, we found this old photo Christmas card lying around. It's such a cute photo, so I took a picture to keep. The baby is Warren's father.

Details: Miscellaneous papers. I tried to use up some scraps on this layout. The scalloped edge on the photo was made using the Threading Water Fiskars punch. Photo corners are a Cuttlebug die. Large scallops were cut from the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge. "a Piece of History" was cut from Calligraphy.
Below is the sketch I used from 52 Sketches 52 Weeks: http://52sketches52weeks.ning.com/

Welcome Little One - Twist

I previously posted a layout with this baby announcement. But I wanted to make a copy to give to her mother. However, I couldn't find the critical paper I needed to reproduce it so I decided to just go a whole different direction.

Details: Both patterned papers are by gcd studios. Yellow flowers are by Prima. White felt button is from the Making Memories Jack line. "Welcome" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge.

Here is the original layout:

For a friend's birthday, we went to an english pub in downtown LA. Here are some pictures from our evening out.

Last Dance

Just a peek at Warren and I's wedding album. I've already finished it so I may not post all of the layouts here.

Details: Green argyle paper is from a Stampin' Up paper set in Certainly Celery. Purple patterned paper is American Crafts. Light purple scalloped edge was made using the Threading Water Fiskars punch. White/purple flower accent and acrylic strip (with purple design) are by My Mind's Eye. Flower outline was cut using the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge. Hearts on sticks and "Last Dance" were cut with Opposites Attract.

Tasty Tex-Mex

Mmmmmmmm, I'm missing my favorite Texas restaurant: Chuy's. Good, tasty, Tex-Mex. No photos, but I kept their postcard.

Details: Plaid paper is from the DCWV Pet's Stack. Flower paper (border) is from the SEI Winnie's Walls line. Yellow fuzzy ric-rac is by American Crafts. "favorites" was done with Autumn Leaves letter rubons. "Tasty TEX-MEX" was cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge.

Budweiser

My dad and I went to see the Clydesdale horses and get some free beer at the Budweiser plant in Merrimack, NH.

Details: Misc papers. I used the Mini Monograms Cricut cartridge to cut out circles and make the detail along the bottom of the pages. The title was cut using Opposites Attract.

Sugarloaf

When I was home this fall, I went with my dad to see his yearly golf retreat location: Sugarloaf Golf Course in Maine. I'm not a huge golf fan (much to my dad's dismay) but the views were simply beautiful. I was happy to ride along in the golf cart and snap some photos.

Details: Spotted patterned paper is by Crate Paper. Thin blue ribbon is from the 50 cent section of ribbons at Michael's. Ribbon slider is from a tag pack by Deja Views. "Sugarloaf" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge.

Welcome Little One

Here is my layout for a friend's baby announcement.

Details: Striped paper with flower corner accent is by Daisy Bucket. Blue and aqua patterned paper and cream striped paper is from a Memory Boutique paper pad purchased at Joann. Striped ribbon is by Love Elsie. Felt heart button is from the Making Memories Jack line. "Welcome" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge.

Zilker Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve

As part of our Micro-moon (imagine a tiny, tiny honeymoon where you don't even leave the city), Warren and I went to the Zilker Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve to take pictures with our newest camera.

Details: Striped paper is from Basic Grey Mellow collection. Dinosaur paper is from Basic Grey Archaic collection. Ribbon is also Basic Grey. "Noteworthy" die cut is by My Mind's Eye. Title was cut from the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge.

Greetings From Tenerif

This postcard was sent to me from Tenerif from my brother and his wife. I wanted to show both sides at the same time so I scanned the photo side and reprinted it.

Details: Patterned paper strips are from the Making Memories Passport line. Stamp along bottom is from the Making Memories Passport clear stamp set. Heart clip is from the Making Memories Love Story line. Large flower is Prima, smaller flower is Making Memories. This layout idea came from a page kit from Archiver's.

Hanging Out Around Town

These pictures were taken in the 2 days before Warren and I's wedding. I spent some quality time with my bridal party and friends. We went to the Capital and Barton Springs.

Details: Both patterned papers are from the SEI Oasis paper pad. Clear flowers are by Heidi Swapp and I drew around their edged with a white pen. "hanging out around town" was cut using the Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridge.

Keep Austin Weird

We finally got our picture taken in front of this awesome grafiti on UT campus.

Details: I forget where I got the cool green die cut paper, but it came that way. Blue diamond patterned paper is from K&Company Happy Trails paper pad. Green decorative eyelet is by We Are Memory Keepers. "Keep Austin Weird" was cut from the Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridge. Blurb with arrow ws cut from Going Place.

Tea for Two

Another everyday sort of layout. These are our cute new matching mugs from a local coffee shop in Austin: Anderson's Coffee.

Details: The brown paper is actually the tissue paper (stamped with Anderson's Coffee logo) that our mugs were wrapped in to take home. Red paper with "love" sayings is from Joann. The dotted circle around the title was created with brads. Swirl is an Autumn Leaves clear stamp. The row of sunflowers were cut using the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge. "Tea for Two" was cut with Calligraphy.

Umlauf Sculpture Gardens

Another place Warren and I visited before leaving Austin.

Details: Misc papers. I used a Creative Memories tearing tool to get the "evenly uneven" torn edge on the middle paper. "Umlauf Sculpture Gardens" was cut using the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge.

Enchanted Rock

As part of our preparation for moving, Warren and I finally went around and completed all the Austin activities on our "someday" list. Enchanted rock is a bit outside of Austin but definitely worth seeing. It's a huge granite boulder in the middle of nowhere.

Details: Leafy paper is by My Mind's Eye. Leaf accents were stamped and cut out. It's hard to tell in the photo, but I embossed the brown paper on the right using the Cuttlebug.

6 Months

Warren and I went to The Melting Pot on our 6 month "anniversary." Again, we forgot to take any pictures, but I saved the card the restaurant gave us and their souvenir menu.

Details: Patterened paper and tag are by My Mind's Eye. Heart is a punch by Creative Memories. Scallops were made using the Threading Water Fiskars punch. "6 months" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge.

USS Nightmare

A group of my sorority sisters were gathered in Cincinatti, OH for a wedding. A few nights before, we went to this awesome haunted house (really, boat): The USS Nightmare. I almost hyperventilated. It was SCARY!

Details: Black embossed paper is SEI from the Black Orchid line. I used "Xmas Red" stickles on "USS." The eyes stickers are by Heidi Grace. I cut out "USS Nightmare" using the Stamped Cricut cartridge. The skeleton was cut from Paper Dolls.

Zoo of Ferns

Along with the realistic dinosaur models, Dinoland also showcased a Fern Zoo. It was basically ferns that had animal nicknames due to their appearance.

Details: Green and blue patterened paper is from a Memory Boutique paper pad from Joann. Leafy branch was cut from the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge. "Zoo of Ferns" was cut from Alphalicious.

Dinoland

Here are some pictures from the Dinoland exhibit and the pamphlets that were handed out. This layout was a lot of fun to make.

Details: One of my new favorite "techniques" is to make a landscape on a layout. Here I used the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut cartridge to cut the palm tree and Paper Dolls for the other cuts. I highlighted the circles on the dino's back using a white pen. The best white scrapbooking pen ever is the Signo Uniball pen. It's pretty much paint so it shows up on all papers. I recently purchased a bunch of them from here: http://https//www.jstationery.com/product_info.php?products_id=297

Visiting the Dinosaurs

Warren and I went to Zilker Park in Austin, TX for the Dinoland exhibit. It was actually a lot of fun. And the dinosaur models were very realistic.

Details: A pretty simple layout. "Dinosaurs" was cut using the Cuttin' Up Cricut cartridge.

Crisp & Clear

When home this fall, my dad and I went to climb Mt Monadnock in NH. I've hiked this mountain probably 5 times throughout my childhood and it's always wonderful to get to the view up top. The picture on the left shows my excitement over reaching the 1/2 way sign. The first half of the climb can be quite tiring but once you reach 1/2 way you start getting the pictureque views and it all seems worth it.

Details: The striped paper is by Making Memories. The thin blue ribbon is from the 50 cent section of ribbons at Michael's. "Crisp & Clear" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge.

Pagemaps

I just wanted to note that many of my layouts are made using Pagemaps layout sketches. The Pagemaps website is a great (free) resource for scrapbooking inspiration. I also have their book though, that comes with this fantastic deck of cards to inspire you when you're at a crop.

Art at Mo

Warren and I went to Mo Ranch in West Texas in July. Warren had been to a camp here every summer for most of his childhood.

Details: Miscellaneous papers. "Art at Mo" cut from Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge.

Our New View

This picture shows the view from our kitchen/dining room in our new apartment. I loved that the trees still had their red leaves when we moved in.

Details: Sparkly pear paper is by Heidi Grace. Red paper with circles is from the Target $1 bin Fall paper pack. "FALL" cork letters are also from the Target $1 bin in the fall. Maple leaves are brads form Michael's. "Our New View" was cut with the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge. The tree was cut with Stretch Your Imagination.

Merry Christmas

The beautiful card Warren gave me on our first married Christmas. I wanted to see both the inside and outside at the same time so I scanned the inside and reprinted it.

Details: Brown background paper is from SEI Alpine Frost collection. Red paper with sparkly snowflakes is from the Target $1 spot paper pack. This paper pack is awesome, btw. Love embroidered sticker is from a Me and Me Big Ideas Soft Spoken set - Husband. "merry" is cut from Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge. "Christmas" was cut from Stamped using the Smooth feature.

Scratching Zone

Zeus and Poseidon (our brother kitties) had destroyed their post in our Austin apartment. So with a new apartment came a new scratching post. They love it.

Details: Scalloped circle paper is by Crate Paper. Post and yarn 3D stickers are by Karen Foster. The paw prints are embossing and the stamp is from a super cute cat set by Inkadinkadoo (bought at Michael's). "Scratching zone" was cut from Stamped Cricut cartridge.

Kooza!

When I was home this fall, my dad got us tickets for the Kooza show in Boston. We had lots of fun, but as happens sometimes, I forgot to take any pictures before or after the show. So I took the ticket (my dad got it in a pdf format) and printed the pretty part out on photo paper. I also used the parking ticket stub, streamers from the show, and a button I purchased there to complete this layout.

Details: The die cut paper (pink edge) is Making Memories. I believe from the Noteworthy line. The purple and yellow are the streamers that we caught during the show. Flowers are Prima.

Sadie

My friend's daughter's first birthday. I couldn't make it since Sadie's first birthday was my wedding day. =) Hence no photos. But I saved the invitation and the thank you card for her gift.

Details: Prima flower. Misc buttons. Ribbon from Michael's - the section of like 50 cents ribbons. I find that I use this particular ribbon a lot. "S" is a felt on chipboard sticker from Heidi Grace. "adie" is Alphalicious Cricut cartridge. Yellow paper has embossed flowers, by Making Memories.

Kite Festival 2008

So, I brought my awesome kite that I used in 2007 to the Kite Festival in 2008. It was so windy that it snapped in half before it even got 10 feet off the ground. I was devastated. =(

Details: This layout is my first with real stitching. Patterned papers, lettering, and kite tail are Basic Grey Color Me Silly line.

Kite Festival 2007

Every spring there is a Kite Festival in Zilker Park in Austin. Here is the first year Warren and I went. We bought a large, colorful kite and were very happy to see it fly.

Details: The orange swirlies on the left are felt. By Queen and Company.

My First Cricut Layout

Here is the very first layout I made using my Cricut Expressions machine. Notice there aren't even any photos because I used to be a diehard "scrap"-booker. Now I use lots of photos too.

Details (for my fellow crafters): I used the Accent Essentials cartridge to cut the background shape and the stars. The lettering was done with Alphalicious.

Welcome

I did it. I finally started a blog. I just plan to post all of my creations here to share with friends, family, and fellow crafters.
