Deep Under Paris

In the old stone quarries under Paris, are these strange "artistic" catacombes. The bones are arranged in walls on either side of the walkway.

Tante Rita

I tried to keep this layout simple since I didn't want to cover up too much of the pretty floral paper.

Here is Warren's great Aunt Rita who we went to Paris to visit.

Details: Making Memories Passport line: background floral paper and pink floral strip. "Tante Rita" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Capital feature).

Tour Eiffel

Warren and I walked to the Eiffel Tower to take some photos after our big walk down Champs Elysees.

Details: Making Memories Passport line: blue background paper, ribbon, and journaling block. Eiffel tower embellishment is by Jolee's. "Tour Eiffel" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

The Louvre

Unfortunately, this was one of those "I'm just glad it's done" layouts. I had a lot of photos I wanted to include and I just needed to get them on the page. I decided not to add any embellishments other than the title because it was plenty busy!

These are photos from inside and outside the Louvre in Paris. We were super tired afterward because the museum is sooooo huge. You can only really finish a fraction of it in one afternoon.

Details: More Making Memories Passport line: teal background paper and floral paper, pineapple stamp (next to "The"). I used the Storybook Cricut cartridge to cut out a mat for the Mona Lisa photo. "The Louvre" was cut with Lyrical Letters.

You & Me Forever

Here is another clip from our wedding album. I saw this wonderful technique where a scrapbooker printed a photo on ribbon. I just had to try it and figured I'd use a favorite wedding photo.

Details: I believe the pink patterned paper is by Basic Grey. Frame was cut using Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge. "Forever" was cut using Storybook.

Printing Photo on Ribbon: (DISCLAIMER: may not be good for the printer)
1. Choose a photo and print in black and white on a regular 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.
2. Cut ribbon into strips wide enough for photo and extra space on either side (can do vertically or horizontally. I used ribbon from the $1 bin at Michael's. Just be sure the ribbon is of a cloth-like material so that the ink will dry.
3. Apply adhesive to back of ribbon (I used a Xyron sticker machine) and lay ribbon over photo such that the image will print appropriately on the ribbon.
4. Load paper with ribbon into printer and reprint the image. The image should print on the same location of the paper, but this time it's covered in ribbon so the image will print on the ribbon.

Sacred Heart

On our first day in Paris, after finding our hotel and meeting Warren's great Aunt, we ventured out to Sacred Heart. Then we went back to our hotel and napped because we were exhausted from the 9 hour time change!

Details: Lots from the Making Memories Passport line: stamp shaped paper, ribbon, cancelled stamp diecuts, postcard journaling block used as a border for bottom photo. "Sacred Heart" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Connected feature).

My Scrapping Space

Over on the Cricut messageboards, we like to share our scrapbooking spaces for inspiration. I figured I'd post it here as well.

Below is my supply shelf (Ikea Expedit shelving) and my sewing table/spare scrapbooking table for when I have people over. My chair is over by the windows, so I hang my Cricut mats on the wall for easy access:

Here is a view of my husbands desk (I try to share the room. =P), my desk (on the left), and the spare table:

Up close view of my supply storage. I got all the cute green organizing containers from Target. They also came in blue and recently I saw purple. I use the green binders for clear stamp storage and printing Pagemaps (sketches). I use cropper hopper drawers for ribbon (right side, second shelf down) and matching paper organizers by Making Memories for my scraps:
Here is my paper rack I got off craigslist and a Michael's cube below. I intend to add one more cube to this stack for more paper storage:

And finally, a close up view of my desk. My computer sits to the left. I got a large Martha Stewart cutting mat to protect my desktop:

Scrappin Buddies

Here is a picture from the last ScrapMania I attended at Archiver's in Austin. I soooo miss scrapping with my friend Jennifer. One special thing about this layout is that it matches Jennifer's layout of the same photo. I used the same main scalloped page and added the branch embellishment that she gave me in a swap.

Details: Scalloped patterned paper is by My Mind's Eye Penny Lane collection. Orange patterned paper is by Crate Paper. Branch is Prima. Flowers are a random collection, mostly Prima (including the blue burlap flower). "Scrappin Buddies" and bird were cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

Shoe Fetish

Oh, my silly cats. Just some more photos of them being cute. For whatever reason, they love our shoes... maybe because they smell like the outdoors?

Journaling block is by Scenic Route (thanks for the perfect addition to my page, Jennifer!). "Shoe Fetish" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

Our Big Move

I found this awesome Texas paper at the scrapbook store in Fredericksburg and then a few months later my friend Jennifer gave me the matching California sheet. So I figured I would make a layout to represent Warren and I's big move. I add journaling blocks to write details I like about each state.

Details: Paper is by Stamping Station. Journaling blocks are by K&Company Blue Awning line. "Our Big" was using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge ( Italic Monoline feature). "Move" was also cut using Lyrical Letters (Jumbo feature). "Nov 2008" was written using Making Memories glitter alpha stickers.
