I decided to put all of my layouts into new albums. This means a major overhaul, but I'm doing it for the following reasons:
1. I want to switch to D-Ring albums from Post Bound
2. I want all the albums to match when lined up on a shelf (right now I have red, green, and blue)
I settled on black for all the new albums and these are the specific albums I purchased:
I bought them on sale at Joann online, but they have them at many other scrapbooking sites. I chose these albums because they all have the matching black binders, but I can decorate each album cover according to what's inside.
Here is my first decorated album cover:
Details: First, I custom mixed paint to match. Then I painted the front and back cover solid green (after I finished my design I realized I could have painted just the edges... maybe next time). I attached the papers from the base up using mod podge matte finish. This was to avoid getting an bubbles between the layers of paper. I just used my Xyron sticker maker to attach the letters. Then I mod podged over the entire album to create a protective coat.
These pictures are of my family on the gondola that we took up the ski mountain each day. I also included one of our ski passes. Sadly, my dad has his eyes closed, but sometimes you just have to use what photos you took. =P
View when you walk in the door. I moved my new albums to the top of the shelf so I could use all the cubes for supply storage.
View of my seating area. I now have my scrapbooking area right next to the windows so I get lots of natural light during the day.

Here is the apartment building we stayed in during our Austria ski vacation. It had ski in/ski out access. Perfect! The top is a view of the bunny slope in front.
As thejournalig says, we woke up to a heavy snow and quickly packed a started on our way home. We were worried about the conditions on the roads driving through the mountains. My dad had to drive quite slowly to get down to the town of Soelden, but then we were fine from there.
Here is another layout where I had a good amount of journaling to do and really wanted to accent a photo. This is the only shot we took of this crazy moment in time so I printed it in 8x12.
The final layout from my trip home last fall! Here are my dad and I in Maine. On the left you can see my dad all geared up for rafting. We rode on the school bus in the middle picture down a long dirt road to get to the drop site. And on the right, I'm posing by a sign on the short walk we took after rafting to see another waterfall.
On our drive down to Austria, we stopped at this viewpoint to see Germany's largest Alp.
The first of our Austria layouts! These are pictures that Warren took as we drove down from my brother's place. The journaling just explains a little bit about our travels. I wanted to play around with larger photos, so I printed out the tree photo as an 8x12 at Costco.
