Gypsy!

Ok. I did it. I cratered. My hubby spoiled me for Christmas (early) and let me buy a Gypsy for my Cricut. I'm still learning but I think I will get a lot of use from it. I was a hesitant buyer (until it was a gift!) so I will try to post a full review once I've made a few projects with it.

Couch Potatoes.

I just can't help scrapbooking our super cute cats! Sometimes I come home to find that they've each picked a couch and have obviously been there all day. =)

Details: "No Scratching Anytime" metal sticker is by EK Success. Kitty patterned paper and 3D stickers are by ki Memories Playful Pets. "Couch Potatoes" was cut using the Cuttin Up' Cricut cartridge.

Shoutout: Journaling just says "Couch Potatoes, Zeus, Poseidon" repeated. I really wanted the look of writing all around but didn't have that much to say about the cats sleeping on our couches, so my friend Sara came up with this text idea. Thanks Sara! I think the handwriting made the layout pop.

Fun & Games

These are pictures from my trip home in August. My family loves to play board games and mini golf!

Details: Graph patterned paper with green circles is by Pink Paisley Office Lingo. Blue and green patterned papers (same double-sided sheet) are by Crate Paper. Green scallop border is by Sassafras Lass. Green/white ribbon is by SEI. Brown glittery swirl rubons are by Colorbok. "&" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge. Cork letter stickers are by Making Memories Great Escape.

Another layout of our silly kitties. When they clean each other's faces at the same time and tongues are flying everywhere we say they are "Making Out." Then one bites the other and they start an all out brawl. Oh, brothers...

Details: Cat patterned paper is by NRN Designs. "Making Out" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

Just checking in

Yes, I'm still here. I have been working on a mini album for my sister-in-law that I may or not be posting so I haven't made any layouts for myself in a while.

But... I'm going to a 15 hour crop on Saturday (I can't wait!!!) and I will work on my own layouts there. I will hopefully have a good selection to post all next week!

Cousins

This is an old photo that I forgot to scrapbook before. When we had all of my cousins together a few summers ago, we took this cute portrait together.

I kept this layout really siple because I have a rule about not altering momentos in any way. Since I can't get another copy of this photo, I attached it to the layout with clear photo corners and would not attach any letters/papers/embellishments on top of it.

Details: Patterned papers are by Memory Stor (from huge paper pack at Costco). Dotted paper (photo mat) is by Bazzill. Rubons are by Stampin Up. "Cousins" was cut using the Calligraphy Cricut cartridge (Shadow feature).

4th of July

So I decided to use the same pagemap twice in a row. It just had the right configuration of photos for two layouts I needed to complete. (See previous post - Tahoe Trip 2).

Again this year, I tried to get some good fireworks photos. These are ok. But I thought they were cute because all the fireworks are squiggly. ;)

Details: Blue dotted paper is by Bazzill. Stars are by Li'l Davis Designs. Yellow journaling block is by K&Company. "Live out Loud" block is by Pink Paislee Office Lingo. Black zig zag is by Bazzill Just the Edge. "4th of July" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

Monterey Bay Aquarium

This layout comes in 2 parts.

Part 1 (a double page layout with pictures of people, the cannery, and the aquarium map):

Part 2 (all the fun pictures we took of the wildlife at the aquarium):

I looooooove aquariums. So I have lots of pictures. I decided to use a technique I saw on Ali Edwards' blog where she used a Crop In Style sticker organizing sheet for a layout. I figured this was perfect for the bazillion photos I had. But I also wanted a traditional layout for the people pictures and map. I'm not sure how I will put this in my album yet. Maybe with the animals in between the other 2 pages...

Details: The double page layout has papers by Doodlebug Designs. "Monterey Bay" was written with Making Memories glitter alpha stickers. "Aquarium" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature). The animal pages have a patterned paper by Heidi Grace. Both layouts have stickers by Jolee's Boutique.

Get Well Card

I decided to use my cousin Nikki's awesome idea of adding some of the botanical photos I've taken to my cards. The Get Sketchy challenge for this week proved to be the perfect opportunity! And I used some patterned papers from the SEI Bridgeport stack my mom bought me recently. I just love the colors in this collection. "Get Well" seemed to be a fitting sentiment on this card because it's almost like sending flowers. =)

Typical Cat

Warren and I love reading the comics every Sunday morning (ok, fine.... afternoon). Get Fuzzy is usually amusing to us, but this one really hit home. So I decided to scrapbook it, of course! I added a picture of my cat's empty bowls - it fits with the comic and I just love their bowls. ;)

Details: Orange cat paper and brown paw print paper are by Bo Bunny. Striped paper (die cut) is by My Mind's Eye. Teal ribbon is by Martha Stewart. I made the white strip with red cats by stamping and embossing. "Typical Cat" was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (Jack Sprat feature).

This layout was made based on a Sketchy Thursday sketch over on Design by Diana's blog.

Card Update

I like to take a picture of all the cards I make but I keep forgetting to post them after the card has been received. So here is a big update!

I made this birthday card for my mom back in June. The presents are cut out of patterned paper and epoxied with Glossy Accents. Letter stickers are by Making Memories

This card was for my step-sister-in-law who graduated high school this past spring. The girl was cut using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge.

I looooove acrylic cards. =) This card was for a sorority sister's wedding back in June. I stamped the white flowers onto the acrylic with Stazon. Green flower sticker is by Stampin Up. Amore embellishment was from Joann.

Another wedding card, this time for friends of ours in Texas. I cut the black frame with the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. Ribbon came folded and is from the Michael's $1 bin.

My cousin's daughter turned one this August. =) In fact, my cousin celebrated her birthday on the same day! Her card is below. "One" was cut using Graphically Speaking. Cupcake is by Jolee's boutique.

Here is the card for my cousin Shannon! The "Happy day" button is by Making Memories.
